Please note: I use a "K" as opposed to a "Ch" when using "Kaos" as it more accurately describes the conception. The word "chaos" is understood by others as disorder, panic, and perhaps ruin and destruction which has its place, however, "kaos" is reminiscent of the original Greek concept of the Void from whence all has sprouted forth. Therefore, while some may consider the use of a "K" as an affectation, I assure you it is not. Also, I utilize a "k" at the end of the word "magick" for a similar reason. It more accurately reflects the meaning intended. The addition of the "k" was initiated by Aleister Crowley in his writings then continued by Peter J. Carroll and many others in the same way for the same reason: to differentiate between the "magic" of the stage and the "magick" of the hidden mysteries. Stage magic or prestidigitation style illusion is not the subject or topic, but magick as discussed within the occult tradition(s).
Frequently, the Great Work is defined as making a connection with, realization of, or union with the Divine dependent upon the tradition. Other times it is defined as understanding one's place in the Universe and purpose for existence. I won't define it here as I believe everyone's Magnum Opus is different, and I have a strong suspicion that is the entire point.
This blog is intended to assist others in accomplishing their own Great Work utilizing tools provided here. I intend to use the Tarot as a structure for organization. My intention is not to provide meanings to the cards, but use them as a method for relating my material in a manner that is understood more completely. Note: once enough background has been provided to be useful, I’ll begin to delve into practical exercises and application of the system I've devised for use while continuing with the tarot structure as a method for association. (Yes, I’ll work through the entire deck and there is a great deal of practice to be revealed.)
